You can visit Bokhara Plains simply to experience the country
hospitality & country quiet.
Uncluttered horizon, arching sky and Australian outback wildlife of
kangaroos, emus and other native birds.
Yet there's more. The region offers a number of notable features and
attractions:

Aboriginal rock fishtraps - oldest manmade structure in the world
(World Heritage listed).

Aboriginal Museum (Brewarrina was a major traditional meeting
place).
Narran Lakes - significant inland breeding ground for birds.

Starting point of the famous Darling river (changes from the Barwon
at Brewarrina).

Historical Bridge - The centre lifted up for loaded paddle steamers
to pass.

Culgoa National Park is not far
away.
Sit in the shade of the coolibah trees
flanking the floodplain of the Culgoa river, watch the passing bustards,
falcons, honeyeaters and cockatoos or the kangaroos and emus on the open
grass plains.
Activities
include walking along the riverbank through coolibah woodlands or over
sandhills carpeted in wildflowers following spring rains. There's a
small camping and picnic area suitable for car-based and caravan
camping.
Access
is 100 km north of Brewarrina. Unsealed dry-weather roads only.
